What Economy Means Here
Less Floor and a Plainer Finish, the Same Forest
Mud walls under a wide roof, and the two double beds take up most of the floor. What you give up against a Quadruple Family Cottage is 14 m² of floor and some of the finish. The forest outside and the breakfast under the trees are the same.
Two double beds means two people to a bed. Four friends who would rather have their own bed should look at the Quadruple Family Cottage, which has singles for three of the four.
The bathroom is private, with hot water and free toiletries.

Two Halves of One Building
Two Double Beds Under a Sloping Roof
The two Economy Quadruple Cottages share one mud-walled, wide-roofed building among the trees, each with its own door and bathroom, a short walk from the pavilion where breakfast is served.
Inside, the two double beds stand side by side with a lamp between them, under a sloping, beamed ceiling with a fan, and a carved relief set into the clay. Outside, slatted chairs sit under the covered roof, lit by a lantern after dark.

What Guests Ask
Questions About the Economy Quadruple Cottage
What Makes the Economy Quadruple Cottage Cheaper?
Less floor and a plainer finish: 24 m² against 38 in the Quadruple Family Cottage, in a shared building with your own door and bathroom. Air conditioning, a private bathroom with hot water, the garden and breakfast are the same as in every cottage.
Are the Two Beds Doubles or Singles?
Two double beds, so two people share each. If some of your four want a bed of their own, the Quadruple Family Cottage has a king and two singles, at a starting rate US$5 higher.
Is There a Budget or Backpacker Option in Sigiriya?
This is ours: a private cottage with its own bathroom rather than a dormitory bed, with breakfast included, free bicycles and a bus to Dambulla 25 minutes away. Tell us your dates and your number and we will quote the rate for that many.
Does the Economy Quadruple Cottage Have Air Conditioning?
Yes, with a fan and hot water too. Nothing has been taken out of this one except floor space and decoration.
Can We Get Here Without a Car?
Yes. Buses from Kandy and Colombo reach Dambulla, and a tuk-tuk covers the last 25 minutes. Tell us when you are arriving.
What Is the Direct Rate for the Economy Quadruple Cottage?
From US$85 a night for the cottage, with breakfast, for two, three or four of you. A busy season costs more than a quiet one, and booking 3 months ahead earns the 15% discount, so message us your dates for the exact figure.
